Correct Date Format in Personalization

Not sure if the date in the personalization on your album cover:

  • is in the correct format,
  • is properly declined,
  • doesn't lack punctuation?

Take a look here :)

In Polish writing tradition, the order for writing dates is: day - month - year. The individual components of the date can be written in several ways. We present the correct formats below.

Date written in Arabic numerals.

Correct version:

5.02.2021 - For single-digit days, do not add a leading zero, but it is required for months. In this format, the components are separated by periods, but there is no period at the end (unless it is at the end of a sentence containing the date). Do not use spaces after the periods.

Incorrect versions:

05.02.2021
5.2.2021
05.2.2021
5.02.2021

Date written using Roman numerals.

Correct version:

5 II 2020

In this case, the day and year are written in Arabic numerals, and the month in Roman numerals. They are separated by spaces, and no periods are used.

Incorrect versions:

5.II.2020
5.II.2020.
5. II 2020.

Numeric-word format

Correct version:

9 września 2019

In this case, remember to decline the month name (genitive case). Do not put a period after the ordinal numeral indicating the day in this date format.

Incorrect versions:

9. września 2019
09. września 2019
9 wrzesień 2019
09 wrzesień 2019
