What is a headband (kapitałka)?

A cap (or headband) is a decorative strip or cord located on the top and bottom edges of the album spine.

 It serves both an aesthetic and practical purpose. The cap reinforces the album spine, protects it from damage, and enhances the durability of the binding, while also providing an elegant finish.
