Przygotowanie własnej grafiki do graweru

In this article, we will explain how to correctly create and save a graphic file in PNG and PDF formats.

To prepare a graphic for a cover that you would like to engrave, you need to design it in a specific size, tailored to the dimensions of the album being designed.

You can find information on other formats that can be sent to us HERE.

The table below shows the dimensions of the so-called "working space," which is the maximum file size given in millimeters for the corresponding cover size of story albums/storybooks and other products. Within this space, you can design any customization.

Important! If you have any doubts, please contact us before placing your order to determine whether it is possible to execute it! We accept inquiries on this matter only via email at: bok@crystal-albums.pl.

Note! There may be a shift of 1-3 mm, which is beyond our control, caused by the thickness of the material from which the product is made. This issue may occur, for example, with materials from the Classic series.

We will be preparing a sample graphic for a 20x20 story album/storybook using Adobe Photoshop. In Photoshop, select New from the File menu in the top left corner of the program. Enter the dimensions of the dedicated working space for the selected cover size.

Place the black text or graphic centrally in the prepared working space dedicated to the specific album size. If the graphic is not centered, we will automatically center it for you.

Remember!

You will specify the position where the engraving should be placed on the cover when ordering the album in the order panel.

Example 1

Graphic prepared correctly

(The example below shows screenshots from Adobe Photoshop, which is why a black frame is visible around it.)

To avoid the possibility of accidentally changing the font, the text should be rasterized.

In the top menu, select Warstwa -->Rasteryzacja-->Tekst

The file can be saved in formats such as PNG or PDF.

It is safest to always name the file after the album from the order.

For PNG format, you should remove the Background layer from the file before saving.

  • Saving the file in PNG format

In the top menu, select File, then choose Save As... In the Save as type field, select the PNG format.

The graphic for engraving should be simple, clear, and black and white. Unfortunately, engraving cannot utilize tonal gradients included in some of the graphics sent to us.

Example 2

Graphics unsuitable for achieving satisfactory engraving.

The files have too many details, fine elements, shading, and tonal gradients.

Example 3

Graphics suitable for achieving satisfactory engraving –

The graphics consist of simple elements, without tonal gradients and fine details, ensuring that the engraving will be accurately reproduced.
