Designing an ECO Album
What is an ECO album?
An ECO album is an album with a photo cover, meaning the cover is made from a photographic print, just like the interior of the album.
How to design the album interior
First, please download the PSD templates available HERE.
The interior is designed just like a photo album, using the file rozkladowka.psd.
The interior should be designed as described in the article How to Design a Spread in Photoshop—you should follow the same principles as with other albums. The interior of the ECO album can be designed in our editor, Zalamo (only for 20x20), Smart Albums, Fundy, or any other program that allows album design.
You need to design 3, 5, or 10 such pages (depending on the chosen option).
How to design the cover
The cover is designed in the same way as the interior of a photo album, except that you use the file okladka.psd.
When designing the cover, pay particular attention to choosing the correct cover template for the number of pages and the size of the album!
- The right side of the cover is the front.
- The left side of the cover is the back.
The same rules apply to the cover design as to the spread design. This file has two additional guides in the middle of the design, indicating where the photo will be folded as the album spine.
Please avoid placing vertical text on the spine—the tolerance for spine folding is +/- 1 mm, which may result in an unappealing appearance if the text is misaligned. If you are not using our editor, you will upload the cover during the order configuration (after uploading the files for the interior of the album).
If you are using our editor, you will design the cover after approving the spreads.
We also recommend designing the cover in a uniform manner. The process of gluing the cover to the album block is a mechanical process, which may cause natural shifts of the cover relative to the folded block, so, for example, the designed back cover may be slightly shifted.
